Lynn Shipman

 

Mrs. Lynn Shipman, 32, of Jasper, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Refuge Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Shipman and Rev. Marvin Shipman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sosebee Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Mrs. Shipman was a member of Refuge Baptist Church. She loved helping people, fishing and riding four wheelers.

She was preceded in death by her brother, John Davis; grandfather, Rev. John R. Shipman; and cousin, Steven Shipman. Survivors include her husband, Justin Nichols; father, Arnold Shipman (Lisa); children, Nevaeh Mathis and Waylon Nichols; heart-held children, James Ainsley and Haley Davis; motherly grandmother, Mildred Shipman; siblings, Timmy Shipman, Cody Shipman, Cory Shipman, Coby Shipman, Caity Shipman and Kenny Padgett; aunts, Cindy Ainsley and Sharon Padgett; uncles, Marvin Shipman, Mike Shipman and Michael Bunch; and niece, Hessara Shipman; 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sosebee Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.

Jimmie Duncan

December 16, 1942 - June 12, 2019

 

Mr. Jimmie Duncan, 76, of Talking Rock, passed away Wednesday June 12, 2019 at Northside Atlanta Hospital.

Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife, Patricia Duncan of Talking Rock; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Mary Duncan of Silver Creek and Kenneth and Carrie Duncan of Nelson; daughter and son-in-law, Terisa and Mike Dockery of Melrose, FL; daughter, Christina Duncan of Atlanta. Fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at New Life Apostolic Church in Jasper, with Rev. Larry Phillips and Rev. Harold Violet officiating.

Interment will be scheduled for a later date at GA National Cemetery in Canton.

John Dean

April 26, 1939 - June 14, 2019

 

Mr. John Stanley Dean Sr., 80, of Bent Tree, passed away Friday June 14, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Dean is survived by his wife, Ann Dean of Bent Tree; son, John Dean of Ball Ground; nephews, Rodney Dean and Randy Dean; niece, Rhonda Harris. Several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in the chapel of Cagle Funeral Home, with Rev. Thomas Shipman and Rev. Bill Lawrence officiating.

Interment will be at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA Monday, June 24, 2019 at 1:30.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Masonic Home of Georgia in Macon.

Laverne Dean

February 20, 1950 - June 13, 2019

 

Mrs. Laverne Ingram Dean, 69, of Jasper, passed away Thursday June 13, 2019 at Wildwood Heath Care.

Mrs. Dean is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Trina and Kent Howard of Jasper and Sharon and Robert Cassels of Jasper; brother, Bobby Ingram of Cartersville; sisters, Brenda Ingram of Talking Rock and Jeri Bishop of Jasper; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Kasey Kuyper officiating. 

Interment was at Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery following the funeral service.

The family accepted flowers but prefer donations be made to Wildwood Health Care in Jasper.
