VA clinic coming to Jasper

va

The VA clinic coming to this East Church Street spot, near Save-A-Lot, is expected to serve 6,000 veterans a year. It is slated to open in 2018.

The Atlanta VA Health Care System has entered into a lease agreement with AFTK, LLC that will bring a new VA clinic to Pickens County by next year.

According to Greg Kendall, Atlanta VA Medical Center public affairs officer, the Pickens County VA Clinic will provide primary care and mental health services to veterans in Pickens, Dawson, Cherokee, Gilmer, Lumpkin and surrounding counties.

Actually, Kilroy, a decision like this takes quite a long time to work through the VA bureaucracy. It would have been underway long before the current administration took office. So you can say, "Thanks, Obama!"

Lee - It is totally beyond my comprehension why anyone, especially any vet, would want to thank Obummer for anything.

I agree with you,Lee, Obama hated the Military! If he could have, he would have eliminated it completely!! I believe Trump had his say in this clinic. He works fast, through the bureaucracy. He has already worked wonders with the VA. Both my husband and son have seen and witnessed this. Definitly!!!

I believe the addition of an urgent care to this clinic will be phenomenal and increase access to care to veterans.

I've been going to Oakwood and Decatur for 20 plus years. I agree they have never mistreated me or anyone Ii know. They have taken great care of me. One of the best perks of serving.
Glad to have one closer. I hope it is staffed as well as Oakwood.
